Going Quackers at the Fairground! πŸŽ‘πŸ¦†

Our Autumn theme in the Story STEAM Academy is The Fairground – and in September we went completely quackers with Hook-a-Duck fun across all our clubs!

In Story STEAM Projects, the children enjoyed exploring magnetic force with our special magnetic version of the classic fairground game.

Over in Lego Club, ducks came to life brick by brick! The young engineers not only designed their own ducks but also came up with some brilliant solutions for fishing rods and hooks to catch them.

Origami Club took a more artistic turn, with everyone folding cute paper ducks – simple, creative, and oh-so satisfying.

Meanwhile, our Scratch Coders brought Hook-a-Duck into the digital world, creating a virtual version of the game that was just as exciting to play.

And in Micro:bit Club, things got seriously high-tech as the children coded an LED duck that could teleport from one micro:bit to another. Along the way, they also discovered the quirky world of rubber duck debugging – yes, programmers really do talk to rubber ducks to help solve problems!

It’s safe to say our fairground adventures have got off to a flying start full of creativity, problem-solving, and plenty of ducks. πŸ¦†βœ¨
