Welcome to a unique learning experience where young coders aged 8+ get to explore the world of digital creativity on screen and in the real world!
The Story STEAM Coding Club Combo brings together the best of both worlds. Scratch Coding Club and the micro:bit Coding Club - offer a playful, hands-on learning through games, stories and invention.
Scratch Coding Club
Create interactive games, animations and stories using Scratch – a beginner-friendly, coding platform. Each week, we dive into themed coding challenges inspired by imagination, stories, classic computer games and play. It’s ideal for children who love to bring their ideas to life on screen. No experience needed!

Micro:bit Coding Club
Take coding off the screen and into your hands with the micro:bit – a pocket-sized computer that lets you code real lights, sensors and sounds! With an outdoor-themed twist in the first block, our projects encourage kids to get curious about the world around them while learning the basics of physical computing.

Why Join Both?
Combining Scratch and micro:bit gives your child a well-rounded foundation in coding and computational thinking. They’ll build skills in both digital storytelling and real-world invention, while having loads of fun and creative freedom along the way!
A library of pre-recorded tutorials and printable Scratch and MakeCode scripts are available right away.
Live Micro:bit sessions are Tuesdays at 12pm for beginners and 2pm for more experienced coders. Scratch Coding sessions are on Wednesdays at 3pm. (Term time only).

What you need:
2 screens. A laptop computer is best for coding Scratch and Micro:bit. You'll need a second screen for logging into live sessions or watching the pre-recorded tutorials. You will also need a micro:bit - available in the Story STEAM shop. https://www.storysteam.com/buy-a-kit
