Welcome to The Story STEAM Academy!
The ultimate online STEAM club for curious kids aged 5–12!

Whether it’s building a robot, conducting science experiments, exploring coding, or igniting your child’s imagination with Lego or origami, we’ve got you covered!
The Story STEAM Academy is all about making learning fun and accessible, which is why our activities can be done right from your own home. No complicated equipment is required – but if you don’t have everything you need, there are kits available for some projects too! Plus, Story STEAM provides ideas for your children to take your projects further, so you children can keep exploring and expanding their knowledge.

How does it work?
The Story STEAM Academy is your gateway to a world of exciting STEAM projects, coding tutorials, Lego adventures and more!
Each club offers a mix of pre-recorded creative sessions you can do anytime, and optional live sessions where children can share, ask questions and connect with others. Pre-recorded content builds into a growing library of hands-on projects that you can access any time as long as you’re a member. Live sessions are interactive but not recorded.
Story STEAM tutorials are like having me in your house! (So I’ve been told!) There is a WhatsApp group for parents and carers where you can ask questions and proudly share your child’s achievements with like minded parents. We also have a wonderful free community in the Facebook group.

BUT WHY IS STEAM EDUCATION SO IMPORTANT?
You probably already know why learning STEAM skills through hands-on activities and projects is so important; that’s why you are here!
But just in case you need a little reminder…
STEAM projects provide a holistic and engaging approach to education that nurtures children’s curiosity, critical thinking and problem-solving skills. By integrating Science, Technology, Engineering, the Arts and Mathematics, Story STEAM projects and club actvities encourage children to explore the world around them, make connections between subjects and apply their knowledge in practical and creative ways. Through these hands-on experiences, children develop a growth mindset, resilience and the ability to think innovatively, preparing them for the challenges of the future.
Our STEAM projects and clubs also foster collaboration, communication and teamwork, as children often work together to solve complex problems whether that’s within your family or with others in the live group sessions. Ultimately, it is The Story STEAM Academy’s aim to empower children to become lifelong learners and prepare them to thrive in a rapidly changing world.
Oh… and let’s not forget there is fun to be had too!

What are the Benefits of Joining a Story STEAM Academy Club?
Everyone loves being part of a club – and children are no exception! While your children might already enjoy local sports or music sessions, The Story STEAM Academy open up a whole new world of learning and creativity, right from the comfort of home.
At The Story STEAM Academy, we offer unique and exciting clubs that go beyond what’s available locally – designed to inspire curious minds and support creative learning across subjects.
Story STEAM Projects
Build, explore and invent with guided hands-on projects that blend science, technology, engineering, art, and maths. No need to hunt for a local STEAM club – our sessions come to you! Kits are available to order for some projects from the shop.
Lego Club
More than free play – children receive weekly creative challenges that encourage problem-solving, design thinking, and imaginative building, with gentle guidance and lots of fun.
Coding & micro:bit Clubs
Give your child the tools to become a creator of technology. In Scratch Club, they’ll build games and animations. In Micro:bit Club, they’ll explore physical computing—writing code that interacts with lights, sensors, buzzers, and motors to solve real-world challenges.
Origami Club
A calm and creative space to explore the art of paper folding. Learn to make seasonal, and story-themed models while developing fine motor skills and focus.
Japan Club
Step into the world of Japan through stories, crafts, language and culture. Each session explores a different aspect of Japanese life – from the geography of its islands and famous landmarks to traditional festivals, customs and food. Children will learn beginner-level Japanese words and phrases while creating themed crafts and discovering everyday life through fun, engaging storytelling.
Japan Club is led by Hannah, who lived and worked in Japan for three years and brings her first-hand experience and passion for the culture into every session.
Flexible, Accessible and Fun
All clubs are run online with pre-recorded sessions released weekly and optional live sessions for connection and sharing. Your child can learn at their own pace, revisit projects anytime, and explore a wide range of creative topics – all in a safe, supportive environment.

At The Story STEAM Academy, we believe in fostering innovation and creativity through our projects. While other STEAM (or STEM) subscriptions may offer fancy kits, they often lack the crucial element of encouraging imagination and originality. With our Story STEAM design and make projects, children have the opportunity to create their own unique products while still benefiting from the learning value of following along with our videos. We encourage children to let their imaginations run wild, and experiment with their own ideas as they bring their creations to life and you watch their confidence grow.
